Barcode & Printing Disclaimer

Understand GS1 requirements, static QR limitations, print accuracy responsibilities, and scanner compatibility before relying on generated codes.

Purpose of this disclaimer

LabelPico generates code artwork and label files. This page explains the limits of that output so you can judge whether it is suitable for your purpose. It applies alongside our Terms of Use.

Not professional or standards advice

Information on this site, including our guides, is general guidance rather than legal, compliance, retail, or engineering advice. Where a standard or a trading partner imposes requirements, consult the standard itself or ask a qualified professional.

GS1 and product identifiers

Creating a valid barcode image, or calculating a correct check digit, does not grant ownership, registration, or assignment of a GTIN, UPC, EAN, or other identifier. A checksum only confirms internal consistency. To sell through retail and distribution channels you must obtain legitimately assigned numbers and follow the required label specifications. Code 128 output here is not GS1-128 and does not encode application identifiers.

Printing accuracy

PDF output uses physical coordinates, but the final result depends on your printer, driver settings, paper feed, label stock, and print quality. Print at actual size (100%) with fit-to-page disabled, calibrate using a test print, and verify before a full run. ITF-14 shipping-carton artwork needs suitable bearer bars and standards-compliant dimensions that this tool does not add for you.

Scan compatibility

A successful scan on one phone is not a certification of barcode quality. Devices, scanner models, and scanner settings differ, and a scanner may be configured for some symbologies and not others. Where your industry or trading partner requires verification, use an appropriate verifier rather than a consumer device.

Static QR destinations

QR codes produced here are static: the data is fixed in the image and cannot be edited afterwards. The code itself does not expire, but the website, network, phone number, or app it points to may change or disappear. Verify the destination before printing, and generate a new code if the encoded information changes.

Spreadsheet and bulk output

When generating in bulk, you are responsible for the accuracy of your source data and for reviewing the validation results before exporting. Rows flagged as invalid are excluded only when you explicitly choose to skip them. Always spot-check a printed sample of a batch against the source records.

Camera scanning

The scanner depends on your device camera and browser support, and requires your permission and a secure connection. Decoded results are shown to you but never opened automatically. Treat any scanned link or data as untrusted until you have checked where it leads.
